Abstract:Objective To explore the application effects of enhanced recovery after multi-level anterior cervical surgery. Methods From April 2017 to March 2018, 83 patients were diagnosed as the cervical degeneration (myelopathy or radiculopathy).Cervical anterior intervertebral decompression and fusion (ACDF) was performed. All patients (n=83) were divided into 2 groups according to randomized number table. The control group (n=43):conventional nursing mode;the study group (n=40):enhanced recovery nursing mode. Both groups were compared by pain, drainage removal time, self-care ability recovery, complication rate, average hospital stay and satisfaction. Results There were significant differences (P<0.05) between the study group (1.1±0.6), (0.1±0.09) and the control group (0.7±0.8), (0.3±0.05) respectively in postoperative 24 h and 3 days in VAS score.Significant differences (P<0.05) were observed in the study group in Odom's criteria (97.4±2.1) %comparing with (92.3±3.2) %in the control group. There were significant differences (P<0.05) in drainage removal time (31.3±4.4) h, self-care ability recovery (23±6) h, average hospital stay (8±5) d comparing with the control group (44.5±8.2) h, (49±5) h and (16±4) d respectively.Statistically significant differences (P<0.05) were observed in complication rate of dysphagia and vomiting nausea between the study group 5/40 (12.5%), 4/40 (10%) and the control group18/43 (41.8%), 13/43 (30.3%).Conclusions Being innovative, enhanced recovery nursing mode can improve the clinical outcomes in the treatment of multi-level cervical diseases.
