A historical review of total knee arthroplasty development

Abstract：Total knee arthroplasty ( TKA ) has evolved signiifcantly into one of the most widely performed and important surgeries today as the treatment modality for end-stage osteoarthritis or other severe diseases of the knee. This paper brielfy reviews the history of TKA development and discusses possible future development of TKA designs.
