Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of early rehabilitation nursing combined with core muscle group training in elderly patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF).Methods A total of 128 elderly patients with OVCF who received surgical treatment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from May 2021 to May 2023 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group using a random number table method(n=64).The control group received early rehabilitation nursing, while the observation group received early rehabilitation nursing combined with core muscle group training. The lumbar spine function, pain level, balance ability,self-efficacy,activities of daily living(ADL),and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention(at 12 d postoperatively),the Oswestry disability index, visual analogue scale scores and incidence of complications of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the Berg balance scale, osteoporosis self efficacy scale scores as well as modified Barthel index were higher than those in the control group. The differences between the two groups had statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion For elderly patients with OVCF,early rehabilitation nursing combined with core muscle group training could improve the lumbar function, reduce pain, enhance self-efficacy,balance ability and ADL,and reduce the risk of complications.
