Abstract:Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is a degenerative knee disease which is mainly characterized by obvious pain acompanied with restricted movement of the knee joint. The pathophysiological mechanisms of KOA include inflammatory response, cartilage degeneration, osteophyte formation, abnormal bone metabolism, etc. Many previous studies have found that the genes mediating the occurrence and development of KOA are different, and there are obvious racial and regional differences in genes. This paper reviews the research progress of differential expression genes in patients with KOA,explores differential expression of KOA susceptibility genes in different population and different regions, and prospects the future research directions,so as to provide methods and pathway for prevention and treatment of KOA from the perspective of genes.
