Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of 5A nursing under the enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)concept on surgical patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods A total of 120 patients who underwent LDH operation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from January 2022 to January 2024 were divided into two groups according to the random number table method.Among them,60 patients in the control group received routine nursing, and 60 patients in the observation group received 5A nursing under the ERAS concept.Lumbar spine function, pain level,self-efficacy,quality of life, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results At 3 months after the surgery, the observation group had higher Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score, chronic pain self efficacy scale(CPSS)score, and World Health Organization quality of life scale-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF)score,as well as lower visual analogue scale score than the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of complications during the follow-up in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For surgical patients with LDH,the application of 5A nursing under the ERAS concept could further promote the improvement of lumbar spine function, enhance self efficacy, reduce complications, and improve quality of life.
