Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of nutritional intervention based on mini nutritional assessment(MNA)combined with enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)nursing on the postoperative rehabilitation outcomes of elderly patients with ankle fractures. Methods Sixty elderly patients with ankle fractures who had malnutrition or potential malnutrition risk in Binzhou Central Hospital from January 2024 to September 2024 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group(30 cases)and a control group(30 cases). The observation group received personalized nutritional intervention based on MNA combined with ERAS nursing, while the control group received routine nursing. The nutritional status, ankle joint function, and pain condition of patients in the two groups were compared before and after the intervention. Results There were no significant differences in serum hemoglobin and albumin, dorsiflexion angle and plantarflexion angle of the ankle joint,American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)ankle-hindfoot function score, and visual analogue scale(VAS)score between the two groups before the operation(P>0.05).The levels of serum hemoglobin and albumin in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group at 3,7,and 15 days after the operation. At 1 and 3 months after the operation, the dorsiflexion angle, plantarflexion angle of the ankle joint, and AOFAS ankle-hindfoot function score in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group; The VAS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 3,7,and 15 days after the operation(P<0.05).Conclusion Nutritional intervention based on MNA combined with ERAS nursing can effectively improve the postoperative nutritional status of elderly patients with ankle fractures, promote the recovery of ankle joint function, relieve pain, and accelerate the rehabilitation process.
