Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of pain management nursing pathway intervention based on the concept of fast track surgery (FTS) for orthopedic trauma patients. Methods A total of 120 orthopedic trauma patients who underwent surgical treatment in Henan Provincial People's Hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 60 patients in each group. Patients in the control group received traditional pain management, while in the observation group, patients received pain management nursing pathway intervention based on the FTS concept. The differences in pain numerical rating scale (NRS),WONG-BAKER facial expression scale score and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) at preoperation, and 1,2,3 days after the operation were compared between two groups, postoperative recovery were evaluated by the 40-item quality of recovery scale (Qor-40),and patients' satisfaction for nursing service was investigated at the discharge. Results At 1,2,3 d after surgery,NRS score,WONG-BAKER facial expression scale score and PSQI of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). At discharge, the Qor-40 score and nursing satisfaction of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, indicating statistical differences between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion For orthopedic trauma patients, intervention of pain management nursing pathway based on the FTS concept could effectively alleviate early postoperative pain, improve their sleep quality, promote postoperative recovery, and enhance nursing satisfaction.
