Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of quality control circle(QCC)on reducing the occurrence of pharyngeal discomfort after anterior cervical spine surgery(ACSS).Methods A total of 152 patients treated by ACSS in the Eighth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were selected as study objects,in which patients underwent ACSS without implementing QCC from January to Februry 2023 were included into control group, and patients underwent ACSS procedure with QCC practice in March 2023 were included into observation group(each,76 patients). The difference of the incidence of pharyngeal discomfort after the surgery was compared between two groups. Results The incidence of pharyngeal discomfort after ACSS in the control group and the observation group was 63.16%and 27.63%respectively,with the target achievement rate was 96.81%,and the improvement rate was 56.25%in the observation group.First postoperative ambulation time and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter, and hospitalizaton cost was lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Each dimension of scores of circle members'comprehensive capability all increased after QCC practice. Conclusion QCC activities could standardize the ACSS perioperative management regulations and process, and further enhance nurses'comprehensive ability,as a result, effectively reduce the incidence of patients'pharyngeal discomfort after ACSS and accelerate the rehabilitation process of the patients.
