Research progress of posterior internal fixation and reduction technology for atlantoaxial dislocation

Abstract：Posterior atlantoaxial surgery is a common method for treating atlantoaxial dislocation,in which reduction and internal fixation are the keys to successful surgery.Posterior fixation techniques include cable technology,vertebral lamina clamp technology,Magerl technology,screw-plate fixation and screw-rod fixation.Reduction techniques include posterior distraction combined lateral mass spacer or bone grafting technique,and posterior distraction or compression reduction technique.This article summarizes the current research status,advantages and disadvantages of posterior internal fixation and reduction techniques for atlantoaxial dislocation,aiming to provide guidance for the selection of clinical surgical methods.
