Abstract:In recent years, minimally invasive spine surgery(MISS)has attracted more and more attentions of spinal surgeons because it can reduce local tissue damage, decrease intraoperative blood loss, shorten hospital stay, and accelerate postoperative rehabilitation. With the rapid development and widespread use of MISS,there are some unreasonable applications or poor efficacy of it with too broad indications. Therefore,we need to rethink the purpose of MISS,so as to improve the quality and effects, and to provide ideas and references for its rational use.
