Abstract:[Abtract]Objective To discuss the effect of arthroscopic-assisted treatment with suture anchor for avulsion fracture at tibial insertion of PCL via posteromedial approach. Methods Twenty patients with avulsion fracture at tibial insertion of PCL underwent arthroscopic-assisted reduction and fixation via posteromedial approach from January 2013 to January 2016 in Jiangmen Xinhui District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Operation parameters, fracture union and postoperative complications were recorded, changes of drawer test results and range of motion (ROM) of knee joint were observed before and after the operation, the improvement of knee joint function were evaluated according to Lysholm scoring system. Results Length of incision was 4-6 cm with the average of (4.8 ± 1.2) cm, the average operation time was (52.7 ± 2.3)min (46-72 min), and the average intraoperative estimate blood loss was (44.8 ± 2.4) mL (50-80 mL). All fractures healed with the healing time of 2-4 months, average (2.9 ± 0.8) months. There were no lower limb deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, infection, vascular or nerve injury after the operation. All patients were followed up for (12 ± 4) months (6-24 months). Preoperative positive results in drawer test in all 20 patients had turned into negative 6 months after the surgery. ROM of knee joint and the Lysholm score were higher than preoperative ones, the difference had statistical significance (P <0.05). Conclusions Arthroscopic-assisted treatment with suture anchor for avulsion fracture at tibial insertion of PCL via posteromedial approach, could improve knee joint function effectively with less surgical injury and good safety, which is suitable for clinical usage.
