Research progress of targeted magnetic delivering of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells labelled by SPIO for repair of articular cartilage defects

Abstract：As a reseach focus all over the world, articular cartilage defect repair with bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) has a big dilemma need to be solved firstly. That is how to target the stem cells into progenitor cells. Technical breakthrough of targeted delivering methods will be helpful for cell therapy, and provide a new approach for cartilage tissue engineering. In this paper, a new method of BMSCs delivering by magnetic force was discussed. The origin, advantages and difficulties of this technique were mainly introduced and the prospects were outlined at the same time.
