Treatment of Twin-fix Ti suture anchor repair combined with Kirschner wire fixation for mallet fingers

Abstract:Objective To evaluate clinical outcome of Twin-fix Ti suture anchor combined with Kirschner wire fixation for the treatment of mallet fingers. Methods From October 2010 to October 2012, 28 patients with mallet fingers were treated by Twin-fix Ti suture anchor combined with Kirschner wire fixation in Guangzhou First People's Hospital. Dargan function evaluation was used to access clinical efficacy at the last follow-up. Results All patients received the follow-up with the average time of 9 months (8-10 months). According to Dargan functional assessment system, there were excellent in 10 cases, good in 15 cases, fair in 2 cases and poor in 1 case, with the excellent and good rate of 89% (25/28) at the final follow-up. Conclusion Twin-fix Ti suture anchor combined with Kirschner wire fixation is a relative simple and effective method for patients with mallet fingers.
