Abstract:Rabies is an acute infectious zoonotic disease caused by the rabies virus, with a mortality rate of 100%.In 2015,the World Health Organization(WHO),the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the World Organization for Animal Health has proposed the goal of eliminating human rabies and achieving zero global cases by 2030.Currently,various methods are available for detecting rabies, including virus antigen testing, nucleic acid testing, antibody testing, etc. The selection of testing methods, the implementation of operating procedures, the maintenance of quality control, and the interpretation of test results all demand specialized knowledge and expertise. With regard to prevention and control strategies,it is necessary to optimize and refine rabies prevention and control measures based on the latest scientific research findings and clinical practice experience.Based on the relevant technical guidelines from WHO and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, and Technical Guidelines for Human Rabies Prevention and Control(2016),Guidelines for the Rabies Exposure Prevention and Disposal(2023)from China,it provides analysis from multiple aspects, including etiology, laboratory diagnosis, determination of rabies exposure level and disposal principles, pre exposure prevention and post exposure prevention and disposal, etc.,for reference by various personnel engaged in rabies testing and prevention and control work.
