System construction and capacity analysis of disease prevention and control institutions in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Abstract:Objective To understand the status of disease prevention and control system construction in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,explore existing problems,and provide a basis for improving the overall level of disease prevention and control work in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Methods The questionnaires were filled out by disease prevention and control institutions in autonomous regions,league cities,and banner counties(districts),the data were collected and verified.SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis.Chi-squared test was used to compare the rates.Results The education level of disease prevention and control personnel at all levels was mainly undergraduate,accounting for 56.48%;professional title was mainly junior,accounting for 43.90%.The age(x2=273.84),professional title(x2=41.23),and educational background(x2=802.81)among personnel in disease prevention and control institutions at all levels were statistically different(P<0.05).The proportion of laboratory area in disease prevention and control institutions at all levels showed a decreasing trend in autonomous regions,league cities,and banner counties(districts).The average number of laboratory testing items conducted by disease prevention and control institutions in different regions showed a distribution of stronger in the eastern region than in the western region,and lower in the central region.Conclusion The disease prevention and control system in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is progressing,but there is still a gap compared with developed regions.
