Abstract:Cucumber is an important vegetable crop grown worldwide in both protected and open-field cultivation. However, its production is frequently threatened by various diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, bacterial angular leaf spot, and cucumber green mottle mosaic virus, resulting in significant yield losses and quality deterioration. The intensive use of conventional chemical pesticides has led to problems such as resistance development, pesticide residues, and environmental risks, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable green control technologies. This review systematically summarized the types, epidemiological characteristics, and damage caused by major cucumber diseases, and discussed recent research progress in agricultural control, biological control, physical control, green chemical control.Future efforts should focus on deepening the understanding of pathogen-host interaction mechanisms, developing novel approaches such as gene editing and nanotechnology, establishing precision monitoring and early warning systems based on the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, and improving policy and industrial support mechanisms. This review aims to provide a systematic reference for the research, development, and practical application of green control technologies for cucumber diseases.
