Abstract:To solve the problems of low land utilization rate, continuous cropping obstacles, frequent pest and disease outbreaks in early spring large arch greenhouse cultivation in Shandong, and to improve the economic benefits of facility agriculture, this study developed a high-efficiency cultivation mode of watermelon interplanted with eggplant in early spring large arch sheds combined with local climatic characteristics and facility cultivation conditions, and systematically summarized the supporting cultivation techniques. In this mode, watermelon was used as the previous crop and eggplant as the succeeding crop, the seedling raising and planting cycles were accurately matched to realize 30 days of interference-free symbiosis.Key technologies such as grafted seedling raising, precise temperature and humidity regulation, scientific fertilization and integrated pest management were yield of eggplant per mu exceeded 10 000 kg/667 m2,and the output value per mu exceeded 15 000 yuan/667 m2 under this mode.Compared with open-field cultivation, the marketing cycle of eggplant was shortened by 30-40 days.It had the advantages of low cost, labor saving and high land productivity. This cultivation mode and supporting technologies could provide practical reference for quality and efficiency improvement of facility agriculture in Shandong and similar climate regions, and was suitable for large-scale popularization and application.
