Comparative Trials on Early Spring Protected-culture Chili Pepper Varieties

Abstract：To enrich the variety structure of peppers in the Turpan solar greenhouse,three special pepper varieties and two local varieties were introduced for a variety comparison trial.Results showed that'Zhangshugang Pepper'matured in 24 days,significantly earlier than other varieties,and reached an extremely hot pungency level.'Xinjiao 16'exhibited the largest fruit length(25.80 cm)and shoulder width(46.80 mm).The highest yield of'Xinnong Jiao No.3'in the community was 2 776.33 kg,but there was no significant difference compared to'Xingshu 211'.'Xinnong Jiao No.3'and'Xinjiao 16'exhibited high resistance(HR)to viral diseases and phytophthora blight,with strong drought tolerance and lodging resistance.'Zhangshugang Pepper'demonstrated good disease resistance and relatively strong drought tolerance.Overall,'Zhangshugang Pepper'was suitable for cultivation aimed at capturing the high-priced early spring market,while'Xingshu 211'was ideal for stable yield demands.These two varieties enriched local pepper germplasm resources and possesed certain promotion value.
