Effect of Different Ratios of Vermicompost Compound Substrate on Cabbage Seedling Growth

Abstract：Vermicompost is a high-quality seedling substrate material with great application value.In this study,the'Zhonggan 1388'cabbage variety was used as the experimental material,and seedling composite substrates were prepared with different ratios of vermicompost to substrate,namely 1∶8(T1),1∶6(T2),1∶4(T3),1∶3(T4),and 1∶2(T5).A substrate without vermicompost was used as the control.The effects of different vermicompost-substrate ratios on the growth and physiological indicators of cabbage seedlings were investigated to screen the optimal vermicompost substrate ratio for cabbage seedling stage.The results showed that with the increase in the ratio of vermicompost substrate,the overall levels of various indicators in cabbage seedlings first increased and then decreased.Compared to CK,the T3 treatment exhibited the best seedling raising effect;the seedling index,root-shoot ratio,and G value were significantly increased by 215.63％,48.81％,and 113.64％,respectively;the contents of chlorophyll,soluble protein,soluble sugar,and vitamin C were significantly increased by 63.57％,33.99％,21.11％,and 118.58％,respectively.In summary,adding vermicompost could improve the seedling quality of cabbage seedlings,and it was recommended that the vermicompost substrate volume ratio for cabbage seedling stage in production was 1∶4(T3).
