Abstract:To clarify the applicability of different types of plastic film in protected pepper production, this study conducted a field plot experiment to compare the effects of common film(PTM),fully biodegradable film(JJM),and reinforced film(QHM)on pepper yield, soil properties, microbial community, and mulch degradation characteristics. The results showed that in terms of total yield,QHM was the highest, increasing by 10.14%and 32.85%compared with PTM and JJM,respectively, with a significant promoting effects on single fruit weight in the early stage.JJM had the lowest total yield. The soil bacterial and fungal diversity under JJM coverage was the highest, while that under QHM was the lowest. The degradation degree of plastic film,in descending order, was JJM,PTM,and QHM.Based on the experimental results,it was concluded that covering with reinforced film was suitable for high-yield requirements, but attention should be paid to the problems of salt accumulation and decreased microbial diversity, biodegradable film was beneficial to the stability of soil microbial ecology, but potential microplastic risks needed attention. It is suggested to gradually replace common plastic films with reinforced films or improved biodegradable films.
