Screening of High-yield and High-quality Hemispherical Lettuce Varieties in Open Fields During Autumn and Winter

Abstract：In order to screen suitable varieties of hemispherical lettuce varieties for autumn and winter,field comparison experiment was conducted on 18 hemispherical lettuce varieties and traditionally cultivated variety.The varieties of resistance,agronomic and quality traits were surveyed,and the comprehensive trait evaluation was conducted by using the gray comprehensive evaluation method.The results showed that all varieties could grow normally,and different varieties showed differences on yield,morphological characteristics,quality,etc.The yields of three varieties,namely'Real Madrid Italian Lettuce''Heat-Tolerant and Bolt-Resistant Italian Lettuce'and'658 Italian Lettuce'exceeded those of the control variety,their average weight per plant were 386.3,381.7,366.0 g,respectively.The cultivar with a short growth period and the best quality was'Italy 188'.The results of the gray comprehensive analysis showed that the top 5 in terms of comprehensive traits ranking were'Italian 188''Real Madrid Italian Lettuce''658 Italian Lettuce''Strictly Selected Italian Lettuce'and'Heat-Tolerant and Bolt-Resistant Italian Lettuce',they had excellent comprehensive characteristics and were suitable for outdoor autumn and winter planting in the southwest region.
