Abstract:In cultivation and production, yam stem segments are usually used as propagation materials, but the production cost is high and the reproduction coefficient is low.Bulbils, with high yield potential, can serve as cost-effective propagation materials, but the long dormant period of them limits the timely sowing in production. In this study, bulbils of'Dahechangyu''Jipicao''Zoupingximao'yam which were harvested for more than 60 days were used as experimental materials. The bulbils were treated with 100 mg/L GA3,10 mg/L PP333 and 5%H2O2 to explore the influence of different treatment methods on breaking the dormancy of them. The results indicated that 100 mg/L GA3 had a remarkable effect of breaking the dormancy of bulbils of'Dahechangyu'and'Zoupingximao'yam.PP333(10 mg/L)was helpful to break the dormancy of bulbils of'Dahechangyu'.The effect of the 5%H2O2 treatment was not significant.
