Study on Storage Characteristics and Preservation Technology of Different Melon Cultivar

Abstract：The thick-skinned muskmelon of Xinjiang was taken as the research object in this study.The storage resistance of'Xiyuxue No.1'and'Red Moon'fruits was evaluated by measuring the difference of respiration intensity,ethylene release and pulp hardness during storage.The results showed that the storage characteristics of different varieties were inconsistent,'Red Moon'was better than'Xiyuxue No.1'.The melon fruit was treated with 1-MCP,ozone and SO2.The results showed that three treatments could reduce fruit rot,inhibited the release rate of ethylene and respiration,and delayed the pulp hardness,but 1-MCP treatment had the best effect.
