Abstract:Effects of pergola and vertical trellis systems on fruit quality and morbidity degree of downy mildew in grapes. Compared with vertical trellis systems, downy mildew damage of grapes had been reduced effectively under pergola cultivation. Typical spots of downy mildew appeared in grape leaves and disease index was 0.41 under vertical trellis systems. Under pergola cultivation condition, typical spots of downy mildew appeared later in grape leaves and disease index was 0.05. Disease index of grape leaves gradually increased as time passed under two cultivation model. Disease index of grape leaves under pergola cultivation was significantly less than that under vertical trellis systems. Disease index of grape leaves under pergola cultivation was fifty percent of that under vertical trellis systems. The spike weight, kernels weight, fruit vertical and transverse diameter, soluble solids, vitamin c of grape leaves under pergola cultivation were higher than that under vertical trellis systems. Pergola cultivation was beneficial to the improvement of fruit quality in grapes. Pergola cultivation was suitable for humid and rainy regions.
