The Research Progress of Keratinase

Abstract：Keratin has a steady chemical structure and is difficult to be degraded by common proteolytic enzymes. Keratin can be digested by keratinase with specificity under mild conditions. The research progress of the keratinase-producing strains, physical-chemical properties, function mechanism, genetic engineering and industrial applications were reviewed in present study.
