Research on Status and Development Strategy of Apple Postharvest Industry

Abstract：China is a predominent apple production country, which occupied 48% of the world production and 16% of civil fruit productionrespectively. Based on the current situation of apple industry in China, three aspects including postharvest status, existing problems and the development strategy were considered in this paper. The challenges on fresh apple storage, juice processing, and pomace utilization were also analyzed. Aimed on the problems above all, the authors introduced series of scientific and technological achievements, andproposed some thoughts for the apple postharvest industry.
