Abstract:ZnO nanorods with different sizes were successfully synthesized by hydrothermal assisted inoculating seed method using the zinc nitrate as zinc source, the hexamethylenetetramine as a pH buffer and non polar chelators.X-ray diffraction (XRD),high resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were employed to characterize the crystal structure and morphology of the ZnO nanorods. The influences of the reactive time, dosage of seed and zinc source, different solvent heat on the size and morphology of ZnO were investigated. The formation mechanisms for the synthesized nanostructures with different morphologies was phenomenologically presented. The results show that ZnO nanorods grows along[0001] crystal and the sixe of ZnO nanorods is regulated effectively by controlling time, dosage of seed, zinc source and using different heat solvents.
