Abstract：The adsorption of polyvinylpyrroidone（PVP）on SiO2 particles can affect the stability of silica suspension through ζ potential，adsorption layer thickness and so on．A thoroughly investigation of these factors has been carried out from temperature T，pH values，polymer concentration，electrolyte concentration and molecular weight of adsorbed polymer．The adsorption layer thickness is calculated from ζ potential through the correlation based on stern electric double-layer theory．The variation the of ζ potential and adsorption layer thickness under different conditions is thus obtained．
