Analysis on Current Situation of Health Literacy And Its Influencing Factors Among Elderly Aged 60-69 Years Old in Chenghua District of Chengdu from 2022 to 2024

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the current situation of health literacy and its influencing factors among elderly aged 60-69 years old in Chenghua of Chengdu from 2022 to 2024,and to provide a scientific reference for formulating targeted elderly health intervention strategies.METHODS Based on the monitoring data of elderly people aged 60-69 in the health literacy monitoring of Chenghua District of Chengdu from 2022 to 2024,the health literacy level of this group was analyzed,and the logistic regression analysis was used to explore its influencing factors.RESULTS The health literacy level of the surveyed population increased from 19.70%in 2022 to 31.40%in 2024.Among them,basic knowledge and ideas and scientific health concept ranked first in the three aspects and six kinds of health issues respectively,and health skills and prevention and treatment of chronic disease ranked last respectively.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that female(OR=0.657),low educational level(OR=0.393 for primary school and below,OR=0.341 for junior high school,OR=0.555 for high school/vocational school/vocational school),and farmer/worker(OR=1.877)were the main factors.CONCLUSION Health literacy among elderly aged 60-69 years old in Chenghua District improved annually from 2022 to 2024.Targeted interventions should be implemented for females,less-educated individuals,and retirees/unemployed populations.Health education programs should be tailored to address chronic disease prevention,strengthen health skills training,and promote the the unity of health knowledge and practice.
