Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the vaccination rates of 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine(PCV13)and the reporting incidence of adverse events following immunization(AEFI)in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing from 2019 to 2024.METHODS Based on the Immunization Program Information Management System in Chongqing and the Information System of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, vaccination information and AEFI monitoring information of children born from 2019 to 2024 were collected. And SPSS 22.0 software were used for analysis.RESULTS The vaccination rates of the first, second, third, and fourth doses of PCV13 for children in the birth cohort from 2019 to 2024 in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing were 24.33%-39.09%,21.97%-35.22%,20.99%-27.22%and 18.98%-6.57%,respectively.The vaccination rates of each dose all showed the same trend of first increasing and then decreasing(P<0.05).The vaccination rates of each dose for permanent resident children and children in urban areas were higher than those for migrant children and children in rural areas. The overall reported incidence rate of AEFI was 69.79/100,000 doses. The main types were general reactions, manifested as fever, local redness, swelling, and induration. The reported incidence rate of AEFI was relatively higher for children in rural areas, children vaccinated PCV13 at the age of 7-11 months, and those vaccinated in the second quarter.CONCLUSION The overall vaccination rate of PCV13 among children born from 2019 to 2024 in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing is relatively high, but the vaccination rate has shown a decreasing trend in the recent three years. The reported incidence of AEFI is low and mainly consists of general reactions. It is necessary to enhance publicity, improve the vaccination management for migrant children, and increase resource allocation in rural areas to boost vaccination rates.Additionally, targeted follow-ups should be strengthened for high-risk groups and during peak seasons to promptly identify and address adverse reactions.
