Epidemiological Characteristics and Prevention Control Strategies of Human Brucellosis in Shouguang from 2014 to 2023

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemic characteristics and influencing factors of human brucellosis in Shouguang,Shandong Province from 2014 to 2023,and provide scientific basis for improving prevention and control strategies.METHODS The reported cases and field epidemiological survey data of brucellosis in Shouguang from 2014 to 2023 were collected by the national health security disease control information system,and the descriptive epidemiological method was used for statistical analysis.RESULTS A total of 619 cases of brucellosis were reported in Shouguang from 2014 to 2023,with an average annual incidence rate of 5.63/105.The incidence was the highest in 2015(9.68/105)and the lowest in 2020(2.61/105),the difference was statistically significant(χ2=107.908,P<0.05).Cases were reported in 14 towns(subdistricts),with the highest incidence in Wenjia(8.88/105)and the lowest in Shengcheng(3.40/105),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=53.427,P<0.05).The incidence peak was from April to August,accounting for 55.09%.The incidence rate of males was 8.24/105,higher than that of females(1.47/105),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=135.529,P<0.05).The highest incidence was in people aged 40-69 years,accounting for 76.41%of the total cases.Fever was the main symptom(80.94%).13.00%of the patients raising domestic animals had protective measures.CONCLUSION Brucellosis in Shouguang showed the characteristics of regional spread,high incidence of middle-aged and elderly male farmers and gathering in spring and summer.The patients are mainly high-risk occupational groups.It is necessary to strengthen the animal quarantine work and enhance the protection awareness of key groups and implement measures.
