Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the etiology and epidemiological characteristics of foodborne diseases in Jiangbei District of Ningbo, analyze the incidence trends of foodborne diseases, and provide a basis for preventing foodborne diseases and ensuring food safety.METHODS Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted using active foodborne disease surveillance data from Jiangbei District of Ningbo from 2019 to 2024.RESULTS A total of 2 675 foodborne disease cases were detected from 2019 to 2024.The positive pathogen detection rate was 17.94%,primarily dominated by Norovirus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus.Norovirus had the highest detection rate at 12.71%,followed by Vibrio parahaemolyticus at 4.60%.The detection rates of pathogens varied significantly across different seasons(P<0.05),with Norovirus peaking in winter and spring, and bacterial infections peaking in summer and autumn. The affected age groups were mainly young and middle-aged individuals aged 18~34 and 35~59 years, with no statistically significant difference in positive rates between genders.High-risk occupational groups included office workers,laborers/farmers,and homemakers/unemployed individuals. The primary suspected exposure food category was aquatic animals and their products(23.33%),and the main consumption locations were households and food service establishments.CONCLUSION Norovirus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus are the main pathogens causing foodborne diarrhea in Jiangbei District.Targeted food safety education should be directed at young and middle-aged individuals engaged in physical labor, and hygiene management in food service establishments should be strengthened.
