Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis and its influencing factors among the elderly in the community, and to assess the awareness rate of core tuberculosis knowledge,so as to provide a basis for optimizing prevention and control strategies.METHODS A cross-sectional survey design was adopted. From May to July in 2024,total of 1 041 communi-ty-dwelling elderly people aged 60 and above of Shanghai were subjected to chest X-ray examination, questionnaire survey and laboratory tests(IGRA,tongue swab). The questionnaire used the standardized tool of the three-year action plan for the construc-tion of the public health system in Shanghai.RESULTS One case of active pulmonary tuberculosis was detected(detection rate 96.15/105),and the abnormal rate of chest X-ray was 34.77%(362/1 041),among which 9 cases were suspected of tuberculosis(0.86%).The total awareness rate of core tuberculosis prevention knowledge was 87.90%,and the lowest awareness item was"pul-monary tuberculosis is a serious chronic infectious disease"(84.53%).There were statistically significant differences in patients whose chest X-ray abnormalities with male gender, advanced age,low BMI,and history of diabetes was higher(x2=19.069,28.560,23.527,115.071,P<0.05).CONCLUSION It is recommended to apply tongue swab testing and AI film reading technolo-gy in the screening process, strengthen the key monitoring of high-risk group, and innovate health education forms.
