Analysis of the Result of Free Cervical Cancer Screening for Urban and Rural Women in Shantou

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the data from free cervical cancer screening for urban and rural women in Shantou,summarize the prevalence of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions,and evaluate the current screening practices.METHODS Following the procedures outlined in the Implementation Plan for Free"Two Cancers"Screening for Urban and Rural Women in Shantou City(2020-2022),basic information was collected and examinations were conducted on eligible women.Case registration forms for cervical cancer screening were completed,and data were entered into the Guangdong Maternal and Child Health Information Platform.RESULTS A total of 76 594 women completed cervical cancer screening from 2020 to 2022.The average detection rate of precancerous lesions was 392.98/105,with annual rates of 255.47/105,461.31/105,and 461.46/105.The average detection rate of cervical cancer was 37.86/105,with annual rates of 19.65/105,44.64/105,and 49.44/105.Statistical differences were observed in the detection rates of precancerous lesions and cervical cancer across years(x2=22.98,7.66,P<0.05).Key quality indicators included an average early diagnosis rate of 93.03%,a treatment follow-up rate of 70.15%,a colposcopy completion rate of 76.80%,and a histopathological examination rate of 103.42%.CONCLUSION The detection rate of cervical cancer among urban and rural women in Shantou is relatively high,shows an increasing trend annually,and identifies a high proportion of CIN2-3 and carcinoma in situ.
