Andersen's Behavioral Model-Based Cross-Sectional Study of Family Doctor Service Utilization Patterns and Influencing Factors Analysis of Ningbo

Abstract:OBJECTIVE Based on Andersen's Behavioral Model,to explores the influencing factors of family doctor service utilization to provide a theoretical foundation for optimizing such services.METHODS A purposive sampling method was employed to conduct a questionnaire survey among 504 community residents enrolled in family doctor services in Ningbo in 2024.Data were analyzed using x2 tests and binary logistic regression analysis.RESULTS Among the 504 community residents who have signed up for family doctors,222(44.0%)had utilized family doctor services,and 248(49.2%)had chronic diseases.The utilization rate of family doctor services among community residents of different ages,marital statuses,monthly income levels per person,educational levels,the number of chronic diseases numbers of visits to medical institutions in the past year,awareness of medical communities,familiarity with community health service centers,satisfaction with services provided by community health service centers,accessibility of community health service centers,and experiences of referral showed statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis show that community residents aged 43 to 55(OR=2.238),married(OR=0.062),with higher education(OR=3.267),suffering from multiple chronic diseases(OR=3.324),having better accessibility to community health service centers(OR=0.136),and having experience of being referred to higher-level hospitals(OR=0.339)were more inclined to utilize family doctor services.CONCLUSION To enhance the utilization of family doctor services,diversified communication strategies tailored to population characteristics should be developed.Policy interpretation should be integrated into standardized service protocols to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of contracted services,thereby promoting rational medical resource allocation and sustained advancements in healthcare delivery.
