Rural Drinking Water Quality Monitoring and Analysis of Key Influencing Factors in Qilin District of Qujing

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the dynamic changes in rural drinking water quality,explore the main factors affecting rural drinking water quality.METHODS From 2020 to 2024,16 water supply units in Qilin District were selected for water quality monitoring each year.69 water samples were collected in both the dry season and the wet season each year.Water quality testing was conducted in accordance with the Standard Methods for the Examination ofDrinking Water,and water quality evaluation was based on the Hygienic Standard for Drinking Water(GB 5749-2006)/(GB 5749-2022).RESULTS A total of 684 water samples were monitored in Qilin District from 2020 to 2024,with 528 qualified samples,a qualification rate of 81.9%,and the water quality qualification rate showed an upward trend year by year.The water quality non-qualification rate in the wet season was 26.02%(89/342),which was higher than that in the dry season[19.59%(67/342)].The main non-qualified indicators of rural drinking water in Qilin District from 2020 to 2024 were total coliforms,Escherichia coli,turbidity,visible matter,and manganese exceeding the standard.There were 104,49,23,14,and 3 non-qualified samples detected respectively in the five years,and the detection situation was closely related to seasonal factors,water treatment processes,and insufficient facilities.CONCLUSION It is recommended to strengthen continuous monitoring,improve water treatment processes,increase automatic disinfection facilities,and introduce professional technical talents to enhance water quality management.
