Analysis of Detection Results of Suspected Measles Cases in Tianshui from 2014 to 2023

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To analyze the 10-year monitoring data of the measles network laboratory in Tianshui,reveal the epidemiological characteristics,and provide a scientific basis for optimizing prevention and control strategies.METHODS A total of 1 459 specimens(serum and throat swabs)from suspected measles cases sent by seven districts and counties in Tianshui from 2014 to 2023 were collected.ELISA was used to detect measles IgM antibodies,and qRT-PCR was used to detect viral nucleic acid.RESULTS A total of 275 positive cases were detected,with a positive rate of 18.85%.Measles incidence showed obvious seasonality,with the peak from May to July each year.Zhangjiachuan County had the highest positive rate of measles(30.91%).In terms of gender distribution,there were 160 male positive cases and 115 female positive cases,with a male-to-female ratio of 1.4∶1.Age distribution showed that the age group of 8 months to 17 years had the highest positive rate(41.45%).CONCLUSION It is recommended to strengthen monitoring in key areas(such as Zhangjiachuan County)and the peak of Measles inciclence(May to July),implement the"family vaccination"strategy for children before 8 months of age,and carry out MCV booster immunization for women of childbearing age and adults.
