Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological and etiological characteristics of hand, foot and mouth disease(HFMD)in Dongying from 2011 to 2023,and provide a basis for developing prevention and control measures for this infection.METHODS Descriptive epidemiology methods were used to analyze the surveillance data of HFMD in Dongying from 2011 to 2023.RESULTS A total of 44 227 HFMD cases were reported in Dongying from 2011 to 2023,with an average annual incidence rate of 159.65/105.The incidence rate increased every other year, and there were significant differences in the reported incidence rates in each year(χ2=14 914.084,P<0.01).A total of 363 severe cases were reported and the proportion of severe cases was 0.82%.The seasonal peak period of onset was mostly from May to August. The peak period from 2022 to 2023 had significantly delayed and mainly concentrated from August to October. The male-to-female ratio was 1.47∶1,and children aged 1~4 years were most reported. The majority of the cases were scattered children and kindergarten children. There were 3 164 laboratory-confirmed cases,of which EV-A71 accounted for 20.73%,CV-A16 accounted for 29.01%and other serotypes accounted for 50.25%.The pathogen composition was different in each year(χ2=1 441.584,P<0.01).CONCLUSION The onset of HFMD in Dongying had obvious seasonality, and oung children had a higher incidence. The dominant pathogens show dynamic changes.Prevention and conrtol measures should be strengthened in a trageted manner.
