Investigation on the Status Quo of Dengue Fever Prevention and Control in Pidu District of Chengdu and the Cognition of Clinicians

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the implementation of dengue-related work in healthcare facilities in Pidu County and clinicians'awareness of dengue fever,and to explore ways to enhance clinicians'diagnostic and treatment capabilities of dengue fever.METHODS Self-made questionnaire,according to the method of stratified random sampling,randomly selected clinicians to carry out the survey,comparison between groups using χ2 test,and P<0.05 indicated a statistically significant difference.RESULTS The overall awareness rate of Dengue fever outbreaks knowledge among clinicians was 74.50%,but the awareness rate in epidemic areas was 34.11%,the Awareness Rate of knowledge about dengue fever was lower among the lower-grade,lower-educated and older clinicians.CONCLUSION The medical institutions in Pidu District are not well prepared for the work related to dengue fever,and clinicians are generally lack of experience in diagnosis and treatment.In order to cope with the increasing pressure of dengue fever prevention and control.In the future,it should pay more attention to the prevention and control of dengue fever in medical institutions,strengthen the organization and leadership,and do basic work such as training,drills,notification of epidemic situation and risk tips well,to enhance clinician's diagnostic awareness and diagnostic ability,to reserve dengue detection reagents to assist diagnosis during the high incidence season,and to carry out mosquito vector elimination work to prevent nosocomial infection.
