Comparation of Growth,Fertility and Nutrition of Preschool Children in Lishui in 1993 and 2023

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the trend of height and weight change of preschool children in Lishui,and to provide decision basis for making intervention measures.METHODS The physical examination monitoring data of kindergarten children in Lishui in 2023 and 1993 were collected.The changes in height,weight and body mass index of children aged 3~6 in 2023 and 1993 were analyzed and compared.According to the BMI standard of children aged 2~18 in China,the data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 20.0 software.RESULTS In 2023,the average height and weight of children aged 3~6 in Lishui urban area showed an increasing trend compared with 1993.The average weight of boys and girls aged 6 in 2023 would reach(23.4±4.7)kg and(22.2±3.7)kg,respectively.Compared with 1993,the body weight increased by 4.1 kg and 3.6 kg respectively,with an average growth rate of 1.3 kg/10 years and 1.2 kg/10 years,respectively.In 2023,the average height of boys and girls aged 6 years would reach(120.2±5.0)cm and(119.1±4.9)cm,respectively.It increased by 5.0 cm and 6.4 cm respectively,with an average growth rate of 1.6 cm/10 years and 2.1 cm/10 years respectively.Compared with 1993,the BMI of boys and girls in 2023 increased to varying degrees in all age groups,and there were significant differences in all age groups of boys and girls except boys aged 3 years.In 2023,the detection rate of malnutrition(low body weight,growth retardation and wasting)among children in Lishui urban area was 2.2%,which was significantly lower than that in 1993.The detection rate of childhood obesity increased from 2.6%in 1993 to 4.6%in 2023.The detection rate of obesity in boys was higher than that in girls,and the gender difference was statistically significant(χ2=17.728,P<0.01).CONCLUSION Compared with 1993,in 2023,the height and weight of preschool children in Lishui would continue to increase,the low weight rate,growth retardation rate and wasting rate of children would decrease significantly,and the detection rate of childhood obesity would increase.Targeted intervention measures should be taken to promote the healthy development of children.
