Intention of Community Visit Residents to Accept Recombinant Zoster Vaccine and Its Influential Factors in Minhang District of Shanghai

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the intention of community visit residents who met the indications of recombinant herpes zoster vaccine(RZV),and to investigate and analyze the factors and strategies that affect the intention to accept the vaccine.METHODS It adopted a non-random questionnaire survey,selected 513 clinic clients who met the indications of recombinant herpes zoster vaccine from 10 community health service centers in Minhang of Shanghai from Octorber 2023 to Junuary 2024.Investigation was conducted to know the basic information,health,habits and customs,savvy of herpes zoster and vaccine,and intention to accept vaccine,to analyze the intention of community visit residents to accept vaccine and its important influencing factors.RESULTS The intention to accept RZV among the community visit population is 68.6%in Minhang District.The awareness rate of herpes zoster and RZV is 94.7%and 48.9%,respectively.The results of x2-test and multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that worried about contracting herpes zoster(OR=2.269,95%CI:1.484~3.469),belief that vaccine can prevent herpes zoster(OR=5.101,95%CI:2.890~9.007)and understanding the indications of RZV(OR=2.761,95%CI:1.688~4.517)could increase the intention of community patients to accept vaccinations.While Believing that the high cost of RZV(OR=0.515,95%CI:0.340~0.780)reduced the intention to accept RZV vaccination.CONCLUSION Improving the awareness of diseases and vaccines,as well as appropriate cost,are both means of increasing vaccination intention.
