Influenza Vaccine Hesitancy and Its Influencing Factors among Parents of Children in Jiangbei District of Chongqing

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore influenza vaccine hesitancy and its influencing factors among guardians of children in Jiang-bei District of Chongqing.METHODS Children's parents from 20 primary schools in Jiangbei District were selected by random sam-pling method in April of 2024.A questionnaire survey was conducted using the influenza vaccine hesitancy scale recommended by the World Health Organization.The vaccine hesitancy rate and average score were calculated,and the influencing factors of vaccine hesitancy were analyzed.RESULTS The hesitancy rate and average vaccine hesitancy score were were 9.81%and(2.40±0.43).The highest score of vaccine hesitancy was vaccine side effects,and the lowest score was trust.Monofactor analysis showed that there were significant differences in vaccine hesitancy rate among children's guardians of different ages(χ2=37.761,P<0.01),educa-tional backgrounds(χ2=55.588,P<0.01)and residence types(χ2=37.761,P<0.01).CONCLUSION The vaccine hesitancy of children's guardians is generally at a low level in the surveyed area,it still need to strengthen the authoritative guidance of experts in medical institutions and health education on side effects of vaccination for children's guardians.
