Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze epidemiological characteristics of pertussis in Fengtai District of Beijing from 2010 to 2023.METHODS Laboratory and clinically-confirmed pertussis cases were collected from the Chinese Disease Control and Prevention Information System for descriptive epidemiological analysis.RESULTS 188 pertussis cases were reported from 2010 to 2023,for an annual average incidence of 0.64/105.92 were reported in 2023,for annual incidence of 4.58/105.Fangzhuang,Tieying and Huaxiang were the towns with high reported cases and high average incidence rate.Among all cases, the male to female ratio was 1.21∶1,with incidences of 0.67/105 and 0.56/105 respectively.63.3%of cases(119)were related to children aged 0~4 years old, children less than 2 months old accounted for 56.7%of the group less than 1 year old, while 3~5 months old accounted for 27.8%.The proportion of school-age children was increasing year by year.60.6%of cases(114)had a history of vaccination against pertussis more than one dose.CONCLUSION The incidence of pertussis showed a fluctuating upward trend in Fengtai District from 2010 to 2023.The main population was permanent residents, with uneven regional distribution and unclear seasonality.Male and young children had higher incidence while school-age children had an increasing trend of disease incidence, most of whom have a history of immunization.Enhancing pertussis surveillance, improving timely vaccination rates, and adjusting immunization strategies should be suggested to reduce the incidence of pertussis among every age group.
