Result Analysis of X-Ray Screening for Tuberculosis in the Elderly Based on National Basic Public Health Service

Abstract:OBJECTIVE Relying on the National Basic Public Health Service Health Management Project for the Elderly,analyze the tuberculosis screening and core knowledge mastery of the elderly over 65 years old in Futian District,assess the contribution of the National Basic Public Health Service Project Health Management for the Elderly to tuberculosis screening,and provide a scientific basis for improving tuberculosis prevention and control strategies.METHODS Taking the elderly over 65 years old who would be managed by three community health service centers including Zhuyuan in 2023 as the research object,chest X-ray examination was carried out under the premise of informed consent of the elderly,and a questionnaire survey was conducted on the core knowledge of tuberculosis.RESULTS 4 272 elderly people underwent elderly physical examination and chest X-ray examination.5 people were diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis,with a tuberculosis incidence rate of 117.04/105 and a contribution rate of 4.81%from chest X-ray examination.The total awareness rate of tuberculosis core knowledge was 65.56%,and the awareness rate of each item was significantly different(χ2=470.47,P<0.05).The awareness rate of"standardized whole process treatment,most patients can be cured"was the lowest(51.21%).The difference was statistically significant,and the combined diabetes,gender,age,education,and occupational status were the influence factors.CONCLUSION The Futian District has made a significant contribution to the implementation of chest X-ray screening through the National Basic Public Health Service for Elderly Health Management Project.It is recommended that chest X-ray examinations be included in the free physical examination items for diabetic patients to detect tuberculosis at an early stage.It is necessary to enhance the core knowledge education on tuberculosis for the elderly and focus on improving their awareness of tuberculosis.
