Analysis of Screening Results of Colorectal Cancer in Residents of Yexie Town in Songjiang District of Shanghai from 2020 to 2024

Abstract:OBJECTIVE It summarized and analyzed the results of preliminary screening for colorectal cancer among residents aged 50~79 in Yexie Town,Songjiang District of Shanghai from 2020 to 2024,providing a reference for local residents and community doctors in preventing colorectal cancer.METHODS It included participants who underwent colorectal cancer screening in Yexie Town,Songjiang District,Shanghai from 2020 to 2024.The preliminary screening of colorectal cancer risk was conducted through questionnaire risk assessment and fecal occult blood test,and the survey results were statistically analyzed.RESULTS 14 692 participants were included.Among the total population,5 641 were positive in the initial screening,accounting for 38.40%.Of the initial screening positive group,1 668 completed colonoscopy,accounting for 29.57%.Among them,960 were detected with intestinal lesions(adenomas,polyps,enteritis,colorectal cancer,etc.),and 12 cases were finally diagnosed with colorectal cancer.The detection rate of colorectal cancer was 81.7/105(12/14 692).CONCLUSION Colorectal cancer screening provides important clinical evidence for early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.Primary community doctors need to continue strengthening education and awareness among community residents regarding colorectal cancer,thereby further enhancing the enthusiasm for colorectal cancer screening among local residents.
