Analysis of Mumps Prevalence Characteristics in Dongying from 2011 to 2022

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of mumps in Dongying from 2011 to 2022.METHODS Reported cases of mumps in Dongying from 2011 to 2022 were collected through China Disease Prevention and Control Information System,and the epidemiological characteristics of mumps in space,time and population were analyzed by descriptive research.RESULTS From 2011 to 2022,a total of 5 725 cases of mumps were reported in Dongying,with an annual reported incidence rate of 224.6/105,which decreased year by year.The average annual incidence rates in Guangrao County,Kenli District,Dongying District,Hekou District and Lijin County were 424.5/105,24.03/105,17.40/105,9.88/105 and 9.48/105,respectively.From May to June,1 617 cases were reported cumulatively,accounting for 28.24%(1 617/5 725)of the total reported cases,and from December to January of the following year,873 cases were reported cumulatively,accounting for 15.26%(873/5 725)of the total reported cases annually.The number of cases under 19 years old accounted for 87.84%.The ratio of male to female was 1.58∶1.The incidence of students,kindergarten children,scattered children,farmers and workers accounted for 61.92%,17.73%,8.23%,3.90%and 2.60%of the total reported cases respectively.CONCLUSION The average annual incidence of mumps in Dongying has decreased year by year.There are two peaks in summer and winter,with more men than women.The focus of mumps prevention and control was still on students,kindergarten children and scattered children.
