Analysis on Epidemic Characteristics and Trends of Influenza in Hualong District of Puyang from 2014 to 2023

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and trend changes of influenza in Hualong District of Puyang from 2014 to 2023,in order to provide a basis for influenza prevention and control.METHODS The influenza incidence data and population data of Hualong District of Puyang,were collected from the China Disease Control and Prevention Information System from 2014 to 2023,and the epidemiological characteristics and epidemiological trends were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Joinpoint regression model,respectively.RESULTS 16 614 cases of influenza were reported in Hualong District of Puyang from 2014 to 2023,with an average annual incidence rate of 324.25/105 and a monotonically increasing trend in the incidence rate(t=6.663,P＜0.01).The incidence rate was higher in males(339.58/105)than in females(309.20/105),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=36.579,P＜0.01).The highest incidence rate was found in the group of 0～19 years old(1 010.86/105)followed by the group of 60 years and above(116.19/105),20 to 39 years group(94.36/105),lowest in 40 to 59 years group(61.75/105),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=2 648.703,P＜0.01).Students(41.67%),kindergarten and nursery children(23.73%),and children living in the diaspora(15.01%)were the main incidence groups.The peak prevalence was from December to January in winter.The proportion of incidence was higher in urban areas(88.44%)than in rural areas(11.56%).CONCLUSION The incidence of influenza in Hualong District of Puyang is on the rise,and the situation of prevention and control is still serious.It should pay attention to the key populations such as students and children in childcare,and strengthen the prevention and control of influenza during the peak period of epidemics by taking multiple measures.
