Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the current situation of bone mineral density in the elderly population aged 65 and above, explore its influencing factors, and provide a scientific basis for formulating prevention and treatment strategies for osteoporosis.METHODS In 2022,663 elderly people aged 65 and above who underwent physical examinations at the Wanshou Road Community Health Service Center in Haidian District of Beijing, were randomly selected for bone mineral density measurement and questionnaire surveys.T-tests and χ2 tests were used to analyze the influencing factors of their bone mineral density.RESULTS Among 663 elderly people 281 were detected with osteoporosis, accounting for 42.3%.Bone mass reduction was detected in 276 people, accounting for 41.6%.The results of logistic regression analysis showed that age was an independent risk factor for osteoporosis. For every 1-year increased in age,the risk of osteoporosis increased by 13%.The risk of osteoporosis in women was 1.92 times that in men.The risk of osteoporosis in the low BMI population(BMI<18.5 kg/m2)was 2.94 times that in the normal BMI population(18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2).The risk of osteoporosis for those who lack exercise was 2.18 times that of those who had an exercise habit.Patients with chronic diseases had a 60%higher risk of osteoporosis than those without diseases.CONCLUSION The detection rate of low bone mass and osteoporosis is relatively high among the elderly population aged 65 and above in Wanshou Road Community.Osteoporosis is closely related to factors such as gender, age, chronic diseases and unhealthy lifestyles.
