Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the correlation between body mass index(BMI)and hyperuricemia(HUA)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2MD),so as to provide basis for the prevention of HUA in patients with T2DM.METHODS Clinical datas of 201 patients with T2DM were collected and grouped by gender, age, and BMI to compare the levels of urea, creatinine, and uric acid in different populations,to compare the levels of urea, creatinine, and uric acid in patients with different BMI by gender and age stratification,to divide into HUA group and non HUA group based on uric acid levels, and compare the differences in indicators between the two groups,to analyze the influencing factors of HUA in T2DM patients by logistic regression model.RESULTS The subjects were grouped by gender, age and BMI.The levels of creatinine and uric acid in men were higher than those in women, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).The blood uric acid nitrogen value of elderly patients was higher than that of young and middle-aged patients, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).The uric acid level of obese patients was higher than that of overweight and normal weight groups, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).Stratified by gender and age,the uric acid value of obese men was higher, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).Among young patients, the uric acid value of obese patients was higher, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).The detection rate of hyperuricemia in male patients with type 2 diabetes was 25.44%,which was higher than that in female patients(6.45%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).Logistic regression analysis showed that being female was a protective factor for hyperuricemia in patients with type 2 diabetes(OR=0.177,95%CI:0.050~0.626);obesity is a risk factor for hyperuricemia(OR=2.777,95%CI:1.043~7.391).CONCLUSION The occurrence of HUA in T2DM patients is related with sexuality and obesity, and obese male patients have a higher risk.Weight management for T2DM patients and maintaining a normal BMI play an important role in preventing HUA.
