Analysis of the Epidemic Characteristics of Pertussis in Fucheng District of Mianyang from 2018 to 2023

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of pertussis cases in Fucheng District of Mianyang from 2018 to 2023,and provide scientific reference for effective prevention and control of the pertussis epidemic.METHODS Collect data on pertussis cases in Fucheng District of Mianyang from 2018 to 2023 by using the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System.Use descriptive epidemiological methods to analyze the epidemic characteristics of reported cases of pertussis.RESULTS A total of 301 cases of pertussis were reported in Fucheng District of Mianyang from 2018 to 2023,with no deaths.The annual average reported incidence rate was 8.64/105,and the reported incidence showed an increasing trend year by year(x2=37.856,P＜0.01).The reported incidence rate in urban streets was higher than that in rural towns(x2=17.869,P＜0.01).The reported incidence was mainly from December to February of the next year and from July to September,forming two peak characteristics,there was no statistical difference in the reported incidence rate between men and women(x2=1.148,P＞0.05).The reported age of onset was mainly 0～1 years old(180.19/105),and there was a statistically significant difference in the reported incidence rate among different age groups(x2=3 595.284,P＜0.01).36.88％of occupational kindergartens were reported,and the vaccination rate of pertussis vaccine in Fucheng District of Mianyang has been maintained at over 98％year-round.Fucheng District conducted monitoring of pertussis IgG antibodies in healthy populations in 2018 and 2023,with positive rates of 6.19％and 0.50％for pertussis IgG antibodies.CONCLUSION The pertussis epidemic in Fucheng District of Mianyang showed an upward trend from 2018 to 2023.It should Strengthen timely vaccination of children under 15 years old with pertussis containing vaccines and Protect the health and safety of the people.
